Born from a desire to build homes and connect people in harmony between the natural world and built environment, Freespan is excited to deliver a new and unique way of building in East Texas.
After 20 years developing single and multifamily sites in Dallas, freespan arrived in East Texas in 2019 with the goal to develop land differently from their past projects. All too often budgets did not allow for the replanting of trees and vegetation on Dallas projects. It was a concrete jungle by the time it was complete, and there was no acceptable solution around this end result. Developers must make profit on each lot sale. Builders must make their cut. Design and finish out budgets are reduced to increase margins. And yet before any of these decisions are made, it was decided with certainty to clear cut and flatten these sites to ensure the necessary units and parking stall counts could be met.
If development is designed and built with the intent to connect homeowners with nature, a better, healthier environment can exist.
